Calliope Gallows ("Callie" to her friends) is a sophomore at Jenkins High School.

Along with her friends Adam and Stephen, Callie investigates strange things in Autumn Bay. She does this when she's not working at her grandfather's bookstore, Matthews Books, in the Roosevelt Grove district.

Callie trades off being the "smart one" with Stephen. Her time at the bookstore has left her with a little bit of knowledge on a staggeringly large number of topics.

Most times, she is calm and cool, but when pushed too far, she dips into her grandfather's book of curses (and as a retired Naval officer who joined up in WWII, he has a large and colorful collection). She has been described as "frightening" at these times.

UPDATE: Callie (with a slight redesign) is featured in the rebooted Autumn Bay.

Yes yes, surrender to the siren call of Direct Draw*! Allow the robots to take all the guess work out of those treacherous curves! Today it's only some spectacles, but tomorrow it'll be a gun or a cigarette, and then before you know it you'll be cranking out whole chorus lines of Rockettes courtesy of High Technology. Welcome to the Dark Side.

In other, less technical matters, I've already exhausted my rant about Fred and Velma and all that noise, so I won't subject you to a sequel about the mundanity of Meeting Expectations with Good Behavior.

*Or whatever the hell your current image generation software calls it.

Actually, the specs were done with "Stroke Selection", not the curve tool... (I HATE the curve tool on GIMP - I'm still trying to work it, but after seeing a YouTube video on the MS Curve, I can see the appeal.)

Between Adam, Stephen and Calliope, I would be possibly nervous around Calliope with possibly good reason(before reading the description about the book of curses), I like her unassuming design and I'm envious how well she pulls off the round glasses!

I should clarify. When I say "curses" there, I mean swear words. That distinction is actually important in Autumn Bay. :)

Oh, okay! That makes slightly more sense. Man, my head's all up in magic as of late. I blame the unintentional theming that 30 days of characters has me on right now.
